City to Surf
Today we ran the City to Surf fun run — 12 kilometres from the CBD to City Beach. Last year I did it in 99 minutes, and this year I managed to get over the line in 86 minutes! I think the bootcamp sessions are helping to make me stronger and give me more energy, but I need to lose weight to improve my running speed.
364 days to train for next year! A guy I work with used to be in the navy, and he says that the minimum requirement was for him to be able to run 5km in 25 minutes. I think I’m not too far off being able to do that, so that’s my first goal. Then I’ll try for 6km in 30 minutes, 7kms in 35 minutes and so on until I do next years City to Surf in an hour.
Well, that’s the plan.
