Dunsborough, Diving, Changing Jobs
This weekend Lana & I went down to Dunsborough to catch up with Bridget and to meet her Hawaiian boyfriend Mark (turns out he’s a really great guy, and a very talented musician). I think it surprised us both that a weekend away turned out to feel like a real mini-holiday — we felt pretty recharged after chilling out watching the sunset and eating good food.
I took the opportunity to do a double dive on the HMAS Swan, an old battleship that was sunk in Geographe Bay specifically for divers in 1997. It was an excellent dive, even though according to the dive master the conditions get a lot better. I’ll definitely be going back for more, I’ll have to make sure I take a camera next time.
After a short stay down south we’re now thinking about organising a camping trip at Yallingup after Christmas so we can spend some real time down there savouring the great weather and beautiful beaches. I like the idea of camping again, but it won’t be quite the same without Chris & Kylie. We miss you Camp Mum!
Oh, and my sunnies broke. Lana found that pretty amusing (please ignore the Firefox T-shirt and bad Movember moustache):
And in other news, I quit my job. An opportunity came up pretty much out of the blue to work at Ross Human Directions in what sounds like a really great role. I’m finishing up at ISS Group (yes, I’ve only been there 6 months) at the moment and I’ll be starting at Ross towards the end of November. I’m a bit sad to be leaving ISS after only being there so briefly, there’s some great people there and I’ve made some good friends, but this new opportunity at Ross seems really well suited to my personality and desires, so I’m really excited about giving it a red-hot go.
Stay tuned!

As I read this, the digital photo frame on my desk changed to the photo of you, Chris and Tony inside the rock at Remarkable Rocks. We’re all well overdue for another group camping trip, though I don’t know when that will be. Soon, I hope!
