Queen Elizabeth 2 in Fremantle Port

I’m working one week in Fremantle at the Fremantle Port Authority this week, and in a turn of good luck it’s the week that the QE2 comes into Fremantle Harbour for the last time. I was lucky enough to be able to go to the observation deck on the roof of the FPA Building and watch the QE2 make it’s way into the harbour and dock at the passenger terminal.

I didn’t realise the QE2 was coming in to Fremantle until I’d already arrived at work, so I didn’t bring my proper camera and I could only take photos with my mobile phone. Still, they came out okay.

There was a bunch of FPA employees on the roof with a collection of very expensive camera equipment which made me feel a bit embarrassed to be using my phone. Still, there was one guy with a lens about 18″ long that was taking photos with his camera strap hanging in front of the lens, so that made me feel a bit better — lots of money spent on high quality gear doesn’t make you a good photographer.

Here’s the complete set of photos I took, and Charles’s photos of the same ship in Sydney a couple of weeks ago.
