Burrendah Brewers

Here’s something I never thought would happen — a photo of me being sporty:

I’ve started playing softball for the Burrendah Brewers — a new team in the Willetton Mens Softball Association. It’s the 25th year of the Association, so it’s a good time to join since the celebrations will be a little more special this year.

We played our first game on Saturday and lost to the Arks 33-20. We batted really well, but confusion between us new players on the field about where to throw the ball meant we couldn’t keep the Arks’ runs down. Still, I expect that’ll only get better as we get more game experience.

Next week we should have the rest of our uniforms too — we’re only temporarily in white shirts while we wait for our official shirts with the Brewers logos on them. I’m pretty excited about being part of the team — they’re a good bunch of guys. You can follow our progress on our official website: BurrendahBrewers.com!

See, all that practice has finally paid off ;) Although it does look like your gonna smack that ball pretty well. Any “homers”?

No home runs yet, but the ball I’m hitting in that shot went past the guy in the right outfield and got me to second base.

And that’s the first time I’ve said, “got me to second base” and been talking about sport!
